Funeral
Donations
If you would like funeral donations to be made to a specific charity in memory of the person who has died the first step is to select the charity. There may be a charity, or more than one, that immediately comes to mind. Below are a few local and national charities that our families have donated to in the past if you want some ideas.

St Johns Hospice Doncaster
Providing quality Specialist Palliative Care and support to patients and their families within a friendly and compassionate as one environment. St John’s Hospice was initially built and equipped from funds raised by Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust. The on-going responsibility and costs are met by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.
Saving Lives Across Yorkshire.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a dedicated helicopter emergency air ambulance for the Yorkshire and the Humber region of England. It was established in October 2000, and currently operates two Airbus H145 aircraft. It is an independent charity that relies solely on the donations of individuals and organisations.

How to let people know !
What charity you have chose
We do a few things to let people know :
We can put a online notice on funeral-notices.co.uk for you. There’s a small charge from funeral notices for this. And it will have an online link that you can donate to which will also benefit from offering Gift Aid too. We can then share this link on social media and on this site through various options we have such as facebook, email, texts we can even setup a whats app group for sharing any info (which is good for large families)
We also add links on our obituaries page with information about donations and on the day of the service we will print a QR code linking the donation page also. Social media is the best way to pass on any information such as facebook and other message applications.
Also we can put out a collection box after the funeral service, so anyone attending the funeral wanting to donate money can do so. We will then either give this money to you on the day or arrange for the charity to recieve on your behalf.

What is gift aid ?
Gift Aid allows individuals who are subject to UK income tax to complete a simple, short declaration that they are a UK taxpayer. Any cash donations that the taxpayer makes to the charity after making a declaration are treated as being made after deduction of income tax at the basic rate (20% in 2011), and the charity can reclaim the basic rate income tax paid on the gift from HMRC.
